HIS LIFE

The first ever Indian to highlight the nation and instilled its intellect at the international level on the Noble prize stage, was Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. He was born on 7 November 1988 in the Madras Province of the nation. He was born in a family of academicians as his father was a revered professor in physics and mathematics. He got married to Lokasundari Ammal in 1907 and had two sons with her—Chandrasekhar and Radhakrishna

His keen nature of observing the things differently and clubbing them with the scientific experiments led to the discovery of ‘Raman Effect” which eventually fetched him the Nobel Prize. Owing to his researches and discoveries he was honored with India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna.

He took the profession of teaching and taught in many prestigious institutes which include University of Calcutta, IISC Bangalore and many more. His main interests include the playing nature of light, which is revealed when the light itself comes in contact with varied materials. He has also been presented with a knighthood for his intellect and practical approach in the field of science.

HIS STORY: His life was always filled with books, stories, and theories. Due to his diligence and sharp intellect, he was able to secure a job. However, his heart has always been in teaching. Hence to everyone's surprise he left the revered job and started teaching at the University of Calcutta. He called his teaching time as a GOLDEN ERA when he was surrounded by his keen students and mesmerized researchers.
